This is a beautiful inland hike starting about 5 miles out of Marquette. The hike leads over bog walks through dense old cedar growth on a small path up to Lillie Pond. This small lake is surrounded by steep rock ledges and covered with seasonal water lilies; hiking on through dense wilderness up to Hogback Mountain, giving way to a beautiful vista over the Huron Mountains and Lake Superior. Moderate to difficult/hilly/over rocks and roots/some easy climbing/ about 2-6 hours. |
